2021 has been a stellar year for Valorant, and things are only looking up as Episode 9 Act 2 is about to debut, bringing in the latest character, Agent 26, joining the roster after the arrival of Clove in Episode 8. As a gamer, I’m super excited about the new character coming to our shooter game since its PS5 and Xbox console debut. Already, leaks have spilled the beans on their class and name. Riot Games has been subtly hinting at this addition since Episode 9 began, and from the teaser trailers, it seems like this newcomer can manipulate the flow of time itself!
Luckily, the anticipation surrounding teaser trailers and leaked information has finally come to an end since Riot Games has disclosed all crucial details. Now, we’re privy to Vyse’s abilities in Valorant, and the wait for agent 26 to officially join the roster won’t take long!
New Valorant Vyse abilities list
Below are the official abilities for new Valorant agent, Vyse:
- Arc Rose
- EQUIP an Arc Rose. Target a surface and FIRE to place a stealthed Arc Rose, or ALT Fire to place the Arc Rose through it. REUSE to blind all players looking at it. This ability can be picked up to be REDEPLOYED.
- Shear
- EQUIP filaments of liquid metal. FIRE to place a hidden wall trap. When an enemy crosses, an indestructible wall bursts from the ground behind them. The wall lasts for a brief time before dissipating.
- Razorvine
- EQUIP a nest of liquid metal. FIRE to launch. Upon landing, the nest becomes invisible. When ACTIVATED, it sprawls out into a large razorvine nest which slows and damages all players who move through it.
- (ULT) Steel Garden
- EQUIP a bramble of liquid metal. FIRE to send the metal erupting from you as a torrent of metal thorns, JAMMING enemy primary weapons after a brief windup.
Apart from what’s already been stated, Vyse is formally recognized as a Sentinel. Known as a “master of metallurgy,” she is clever, deceitful, and has the ability to release liquid metal to separate, ensnare, and disable her adversaries.

Valorant Vyse release date
I’m super pumped! The drop date for the new Valorant agent, Vyse, is August 28th. I can hardly wait to get my hands on her. She’s agent number 26 and boy, does she look amazing! As a Sentinel, she brings a fresh flavor to our existing lineup that includes Killjoy, Cypher, Sage, Chamber, and Deadlock. Can’t wait to strategize with her on the battlefield!
In simpler terms, Kevin Meier, a designer for Valorant, explained that when creating the character Vyse, they aimed to design a Sentinel who could effectively deal with close-quarters duelists in a way that wasn’t just about slowing down the game. However, compared to current meta (most commonly used) Sentinels, Vyse may not have as many tools for gathering information.
Meier anticipates “her to excel in securing space and defending against numerous opponents,” and the game designer has pointed out that “her flash is more powerful when strategically positioned, so players need to make tactical decisions at the beginning of each round regarding how to control an area.”
