Renukaswamy case: Tensions rise between Kannada actor Darshan and others accused over bail support

As a fervent admirer of Kannada cinema and a close observer of the lives of its stars, I have followed the tumultuous journey of Darshan Thoogudeepa with a mixture of shock, sadness, and intrigue. The recent developments in the Renukaswamy murder case have added another layer of complexity to an already convoluted story.

In the latest turn of events for Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who’s currently detained as the second suspect in the Renukaswamy murder case, it appears that his fellow prisoners linked to the same case have found out that they can’t rely on him for help with their bail requests. As per a report by News18, these 15 incarcerated individuals have discovered that their connection to the crime was fueled by their admiration for Darshan.

Following the situation, I’ve taken it upon myself to explore legal remedies independently. As per the latest reports, I, Anukumar, have initiated the process by filing for bail. It is expected that once the charge sheet is submitted, the rest of the accused, including myself, will follow suit and pursue our own bails as well.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m here to keep you informed about the latest updates. In this case, Malini Krishnamurthy, the Director General of Police (Prisons), has made it clear that Darshan Thoogudeepa’s request for home-cooked meals and extra amenities at Central Prison will not be granted. This decision was upheld by the State Public Prosecutor, BA Belliayappa, in a report to the Karnataka High Court on August 14, 2024. The petitioner has since been informed of this decision.

In contrast, Prabhuling Navadgi, Darshan’s senior lawyer, pointed out that the petitioner had not received the rejection order’s copy. To give the petitioner enough time to get the required documents, Justice M. Nagaprasanna has rescheduled the hearing for September 5.

On June 11th, the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case attracted widespread interest as Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his suspected partner, Pavithra Gowda, were taken into custody for their involvement in the crime.

33-year-old pharmacist Renuka Swamy, a devoted fan of actor Darshan, is believed to have been killed due to offensive remarks made about a person named Gowda. Renuka had accused Gowda of breaking up Darshan’s marriage, which reportedly provoked Gowda to seek retribution. It has been suggested that Darshan Thoogudeepa played a role in orchestrating the crime, and both individuals are implicated in the murder.

Based on accounts, it’s said that Darshan got into a violent altercation with Renukaswamy, fatally striking him with several weapons within his garage. Following this, the deceased individual was disposed of in a nearby storm drain.
