As a long-time admirer of Thalapathy Vijay, I find myself in awe of his latest venture into active politics with the launch of Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Having grown up watching him on the silver screen, it’s heartening to see him now taking steps towards making a difference off it.
Actor Thalapathy Vijay will formally unveil the emblem and anthem of his political party, Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), on August 22 at their headquarters in Panaiyur, Chennai. The ceremony is scheduled for 9:15 AM. This is a notable step in Vijay’s shift from the film industry to active politics, as he prepares for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in 2026.
The anticipated gathering, with more than 300 TVK officials in attendance, will witness Vijay raising the party banner atop a thirty-foot flagpole. The banner is said to showcase an image of Vijay enclosed within a red circle on a yellow backdrop, a color that represents equality in Tamil tradition.
During the event, the much-anticipated party song, masterfully created by renowned music director S Thaman and written by V Vivek, will also make its debut.
As a devoted follower, I’m excited to share that TVL of Vijay has posted an announcement on their social media platforms about an auspicious event. In simpler terms, it’s like they said, “Every day can bring a fresh start and new energy in the course of history. August 22nd, 2024, is one such special day, graced by both God and nature.”
I’m thrilled to share that beginning tomorrow, we will unveil our iconic flag – a symbol of our state pride – at our headquarters, the secretariat of our party. Alongside, we will release the party anthem dedicated to our flag and hoist it high. Our flag will be seen throughout the nation starting tomorrow. The future looks brighter for Tamil Nadu from this moment onwards. Victory is imminent!

In February 2024, Vijay declared the establishment of TVK, and it’s been clarified that he won’t back any political party during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Instead, his attention is on fortifying TVK’s local structures for the following two years, with plans to compete in the 2026 assembly elections using TVK’s own party symbol.
Right now, the actor is busy preparing for the launch of a new film called “The Greatest Ever.” Directed by Venkat Prabhu, this movie is set to hit theaters on September 5th. Additionally, you can expect to see Vijay in Thalapathy 69 before he starts his political career.
