As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I have seen many delays in the world of video games, but none have ever filled me with such anticipation as the delay for Hyper Light Breaker. I’ve been following its development since its announcement and the hype was already through the roof. The delay to 2025 might seem disappointing at first glance, but as a veteran who has seen many studios sacrifice quality for quick release dates, I applaud Heart Machine for their commitment to delivering a satisfying experience.
The planned Steam Early Access launch for Hyper Light Breaker has been moved to 2025. However, take heart! The creators at Heart Machine have assured us it’s “very early next year,” so you likely won’t have to wait much longer before immersing yourself in this thrilling sequel.
On August 20, 2024, Alx Preston, the founder and creative director at Heart Machine, made an announcement via Steam. He revealed that Hyper Light Breaker would be available for Early Access in 2025. In his post, Preston explained that the delay was due to the team’s dissatisfaction with the game’s current state, stating, “We don’t want to launch a project, not even an Early Access one, unless we’re happy with it on multiple levels.”
Instead, Preston emphasizes their philosophy of “ensuring a steady, long-term pace of progress,” as opposed to overworking the team to meet an exact deadline and potentially causing burnout.
As a fervent admirer who can’t contain my excitement any longer, I’m thrilled to announce that the moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! Hyper Light Breaker enthusiasts like myself will have the opportunity to get our hands on this highly anticipated game at several upcoming events. Let the gaming begin!
