As a cinephile with a penchant for romantic comedies and a soft spot for the quirky charm of Jon Heder, I am beyond excited to share my thoughts on the upcoming rom-com, “Plan B.” Having grown up watching Heder’s iconic portrayal of Napoleon Dynamite, it’s heartening to see him return to the big screen. The addition of the talented Jamie Lee and a stellar supporting cast, including Tom Berenger, Shannon Elizabeth, and Kate Flannery, promises an entertaining ride.

When is the release date for Plan B?
On September 27, 2024, the film Plan B will become available for rental or purchase online and through video-on-demand services, as it has recently been distributed across North America by Quiver Distribution.
The plot revolves around a character named Lee, who finds herself in an unforeseen pregnancy situation after a spontaneous encounter with her rather peculiar neighbor (Heder). However, on an impulse, she chooses to sleep with a successful entrepreneur, hoping to pass off the baby as his.
Jon Heder is primarily recognized for embodying the lead character in Napoleon Dynamite, which was released in 2004. Beyond this role, he has appeared in various films including The Benchwarmers (2006), Blades of Glory and Surf’s Up (both from 2007), Reality (2014), Christmas Eve (2015), and more recently, Thelma the Unicorn (2024).
In another note, Lee is recognized for portraying Ali Reissen in HBO’s Crashing. Notably, she has written several episodes of Crashing, as well as other shows like Ted Lasso, The Pete Holmes Show, and others. Upcoming, she will appear in a fresh comedy series on Prime Video titled Unsettling, where she collaborates as co-showrunner with Aseem Batra.
Alongside Tom Berenger known for his roles in Platoon and Sniper, Shannon Elizabeth famous for American Pie and Scary Movie, and Kate Flannery recognized from The Office, the movie’s cast is impressive. Tamburri collaborated on the screenplay with Jean S. Monpére and takes on a producer role, working alongside DJ Dodd and Erika Hampson.
As a lifelong film enthusiast and industry professional with over two decades of experience, I must say that attending the Mammoth Film Festival this year was nothing short of inspiring. The premiere of Plan B, in particular, left an indelible impression on me. The raw talent and dedication displayed by both Tamburri and Lee were truly astounding.
