As a lifelong Star Wars fan who has weathered both the highs and lows of this iconic franchise, I must admit that the upcoming movie “The Mandalorian and Grogu” has left me feeling rather… divided. On one hand, I’m thrilled about the prospect of more adventures in the Star Wars universe. On the other, the absence of Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett leaves a considerable void in my heart.
Ever since “The Rise of Skywalker” hit theaters, Star Wars has sparked a lot of debate among fans. The subsequent Disney+ series have ranged in quality, to put it mildly.
The upcoming movie slated for release in May 2026 is titled “The Mandalorian and Grogu“. Regrettably, it appears that Temuera Morrison will not reprise his role as Boba Fett in this new production.
What Happened To Boba Fett?
Following his premiere on “The Mandalorian” Season 2, fans couldn’t hide their excitement at the reappearance of the iconic bounty hunter, Boba Fett.
Initially, there was a lot of excitement, but the buzz died down as the new series, “The Book of Boba Fett,” garnered both positive and negative feedback from both viewers and critics.
The story left the character in a place, where it is unlikely to see a continuation.
As a dedicated gamer, I just got some exciting news from FanExpo Chicago – Temuera Morrison himself revealed that he won’t be reprising his role as Boba Fett in The Mandalorian and Grogu for now. He also mentioned that there’s uncertainty about whether we’ll see him back as the character in the future. Exciting times ahead!
I’m still waiting for a phone call to be quite honest. I think we’re just put on the shelf for a little bit. Maybe we come off the shelf later.
We’ll have to wait and see, what the future holds for the bounty hunter.
