I’ve been hooked on this series, crafted by the masterful animators from Powerhouse Animation. They’re the same team behind the stunning visuals in Netflix’s Castlevania and Masters of the Universe: Revelation, to name a few.

12 primary Tomb Raider video games and additional spin-offs make up the Tomb Raider series. The initial game debuted in 1996 and was followed by eight more editions up until 2008. In 2013, the franchise was revitalized with a new main series game, marking the start of a trilogy that ended in 2018.

Back in the day, I was thrilled when my favorite video game franchise, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, made its debut on the big screen in 2001 with the Paramount movie titled Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, featuring Angelina Jolie as the daring archaeologist. I couldn’t resist returning to the cinemas for the sequel, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life, also starring Jolie in 2003. More recently, my excitement was renewed when MGM and Warner Bros. brought the live-action series back with a fresh start in 2018, casting Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider.
