As a dedicated fan of captivating narratives and exceptional performances, I am thrilled to share my enthusiasm for the upcoming comedy “Concessions,” featuring some familiar faces from the world of The Walking Dead, Steven Ogg and Josh Hamilton, alongside Michael Madsen. The story revolves around several characters working at the Royal Alamo Cinema on its final night, each grappling with their own dreams, fears, and uncertainties.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the talented actors behind The Walking Dead’s Simon and Lance Hornsby, Steven Ogg and Josh Hamilton respectively, are teaming up with Michael Madsen for a laugh-out-loud comedy titled Concessions. Can’t wait to see them bring their charm to this new project!

Under the guidance of director Mas Bouzidi, the film titled “Concessions” was initially developed as a concept short for a full-length movie, completing production in November 2023. Previously, Bouzidi has penned four feature films and directed multiple short films on Kodak and FilmShortage. Malcolm Brainerd and Ram Khagram served as the producers of this film, with Harrison Allen stepping in as co-producer, Michael Beckley taking on the role of executive producer, and Sophia Winkler overseeing line production.

The narrative unfolds around a group of workers at the Royal Alamo Cinema on its last day, as it prepares for an eternal closure. Hunter, one of the concession stand staff, finds himself contemplating his future during his final shift at the theater. A reunion with an old high school friend, who has achieved success in life, intensifies his doubts about his own path. Lorenzo, Hunter’s closest companion, holds a football scholarship in Tampa, but he wonders if this is truly the dream everyone speaks of. Luke, the theater owner, inherited the business from his father and dedicated his life to maintaining it. He isn’t ready to relinquish the theater, yet this moment could offer him an opportunity to break free from his father’s legacy.

Rob Riordan (The Surprise Visit) portrays Hunter, with Jonathan Price (Sleep Half of It) as Lorenzo. Ogg plays theater owner Luke, and Hamilton’s role is a mystery. Michael Madsen plays Rex Fuel, a sleazy theater patron and wannabe cowboy. Lana Rockwell (Sweet Thing) portrays Deana, the box office attendee who is the eyes and ears of the theater and is bound for art school in Manhattan. Additional cast includes Ivory Aquino (When They See Us), Jared Gilman (Moonrise Kingdom), and Nate Odenkirk (Summer in Argyle).

Steven Ogg – recent work

Ogg reprised his role as Simon from The Walking Dead in the premiere season of The Walking Dead: Dead City, the Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) centric spinoff series. He also appeared in episodes of Boiling Point during its first season. He has recently starred in an action horror, Dark Match, a horror titled Scared Shitless, and the buddy comedy, Dad Company.

IMDB features numerous upcoming ventures for the character Ogg. Among these is “The Ghost Trap,” in which he teams up with his former Walking Dead co-star, Xander Berkeley once more.

Josh Hamilton – recent work

Since Hamilton completed his role as Lance Hornsby on The Walking Dead, he’s kept himself quite occupied. He made an appearance in the HBO movie titled Reality, a gripping tale based on the life of former American intelligence operative, Reality Winner. Additionally, he featured in one episode of the Fox anthology series, Accused, and in The Last Thing He Told Me, a production spearheaded by Jennifer Garner. Interestingly, Aisha Tyler, an actress and director from Fear The Walking Dead, was also part of this latter production.

Following this, he will lead the film known as “The Noah Baumbach Untitled Project,” which has been characterized as a blend of humor and emotion, focusing on grown-ups. This movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast, according to What’s On Netflix. Reportedly, the film, titled Jay Kelly, completed shooting in May 2024.
