As a dedicated fan of The Umbrella Academy who has spent countless hours immersed in the intricate world that Steve Blackman and his team have crafted, I must express my disappointment over the absence of Sloane in Season 4.

In the finale of The Umbrella Academy Season 3, there was a narrative thread we yearned for more insight into – it centered around Luther’s quest to locate Sloane.

By the close of the third season, Sir Reginald Hargreeves modified the world he’d dispatched the Hargreeves siblings to. This partially materialized following Allison’s murder of Reginald, resulting in the siblings losing their powers and Sloane mysteriously vanishing. During this time, Luther, who had perished in the finale, miraculously returned to life.

Only Sloane disappeared, leaving us speculating about a plot where Luther searches for his lost spouse. However, this scenario wasn’t developed in the show, but why was that the case?

Regrettably, it proved impractical to incorporate Sloane into the last season due to scheduling constraints. It seems that the production timeline didn’t allow for the development of the narrative that showrunner Steve Blackman had envisioned.

Indeed, it’s unusual that Sloane wouldn’t recall Luther, yet he recalls her. Perhaps that’s the reason it wasn’t explicitly mentioned. After all, most people seem to remember one another. Could this be an anomaly or a deliberate omission in the narrative?

As a gamer, if this season had 10 exciting levels instead of just 6, I’d have had enough time to fully explore and appreciate each one. Unfortunately, it feels like I’m rushing through the game now, barely scraping by with what little time I have left.

In Season 4 of “The Umbrella Academy,” Sloane is brought up, specifically during Luther’s appearance at his niece’s birthday party in the first episode. Here, Luther expresses to Diego that he would have given anything to share a connection like the one Diego and Sloane have. There’s speculation that Luther may have tried to find her, but it’s possible she simply doesn’t exist in this particular universe, much like the other members of the Sparrow Academy.
