"Lily" will be a mystery to Agent Parker in NCIS season 22

As a longtime fan of NCIS, I eagerly await the upcoming season 22. The cliffhanger surrounding Alden Parker and the enigmatic figure of Lily has me intrigued. It’s been a while since we had such a compelling mystery to unravel, and it feels like we’re about to dive deep into Parker’s past, possibly unearthing secrets he didn’t even know he had!

Before the debut of NCIS season 22, which is still a few months away, details are scarce. Nevertheless, one intriguing enigma that might take center stage was hinted at in the season 21 finale. This mystery revolves around Alden Parker (Gary Cole) and the enigmatic woman named Lily.

In the final episode of season 21, Agents Parker and Jessica Knight (played by Katrina Law) found themselves stranded on a sinking ship, later to be converted into an underwater reef. As they struggled to evade their predicament, Parker was ensnared and injured severely, leading him to oscillate between consciousness and unconsciousness as he lost a significant amount of blood.

It seemed like he was deeply engrossed in a recollection of a young girl he used to play with on a boat, with the spirit of his mother urging him to remain vigilant. However, when Parker was admitted to the hospital, he confided in Knight that he wasn’t familiar with Lily.

Initially, it appeared as though he was oblivious about her ties to him. However, based on Steven D. Binder’s interview with TVLine, there seems to be something hidden in his past that could potentially resurface and even catch him by surprise.

As a fan, I’ve been pondering: Could it be that Parker was too young when Lily left him, explaining why he can’t recall her? It’s plausible that his memories of her are lost to time, but with these hallucinations or flashbacks resurfacing in season 22, perhaps we’ll uncover more about their connection.

There could be a chance that Lily might be a sibling he hadn’t previously recognized. If anything unfortunate occurred with her, the emotional distress could have caused him to forget the details of the events. His mind might have shielded him from that trauma, particularly if his family opted not to discuss her.

Over the course of many years, we’ve accumulated a wealth of knowledge about these characters, and we eagerly anticipate discovering further details about Parker, particularly since we will be learning with him simultaneously. This could result in some intriguing character evolutions, providing insights into how he has evolved into the man he is today.

With the start of NCIS season 22, there’s lots more excitement to come. One question left hanging is whether we’ll continue to see Agent Knight, given that she chose to leave the team. Will she remain a part of the show and if so, who will temporarily occupy her desk?

“NCIS will start a little later than usual, debuting on Monday, October 14 at 8/7 central time. It will then return to its regular 9/8c timeslot on October 21. In the meantime, catch up on past episodes via Paramount+. Additionally, the Season 21 DVD is now available from Paramount Home Entertainment. For a preview, take a look at our review.”
