Elle Fanning, Stellan Skarsgård, & More Join Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value Cast

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for movies and an appreciation for the artistry that goes into them, I can confidently say that Sentimental Value is shaping up to be a cinematic masterpiece. With Joachim Trier at the helm, it’s no surprise that he’s managed to assemble such a stellar cast, including Renate Reinsve, Stellan Skarsgård, Elle Fanning, and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas.

The film by Joachim Trier, titled Sentimental Value, has attracted some of the most prominent figures in Hollywood to take on roles alongside the already confirmed actress, Renate Reinsve.

In the pipeline after the 2021 romantic comedy-drama “The Worst Person in the World” is Trier’s upcoming project, titled “Sentimental Value.” This film follows in the footsteps of its critically praised, Academy Award-nominated predecessor, where Reinsve played a central role. Once more, Trier and Reinsve join forces for “Sentimental Value.”

Production on Sentimental Value has already commenced in Oslo.

Who stars in Sentimental Value?

As reported by Deadline, it’s been announced that Reinsve, fresh from her role in A24’s A Different Man, will be working alongside Stellan Skarsgård, Elle Fanning, and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas on an upcoming project. Notably, Stellan Skarsgård has made a name for himself with notable performances in films such as Breaking the Waves, Insomnia, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Good Will Hunting, Andor, Dune, Chernobyl, and many others.

From the limelight since her youth, Fanning has graced numerous critically-acclaimed films and series such as Super 8, Phoebe in Wonderland, Mary Shelley, The Beguiled, The Neon Demon, A Rainy Day in New York, 20th Century Women, and The Great (to name a few). On the other hand, Lilleaas is an up-and-coming actress who’s appeared in Women In Oversized Men’s Shirts, Young & Promising, and Netflix production A Beautiful Life.

According to its portrayal, the play titled “Sentimental Value” is advertised as a heartfelt, emotional, and occasionally humorous examination of family, recollections, and art’s healing power. The narrative revolves around stage actress Nora (Reinsve) and her sister Agnes (Lilleaas), who find themselves reunited with their estranged father Gustave (Skarsgård). A former prominent film director, Gustav aims to re-emerge and mend fences with Nora by casting her in his upcoming project. However, Nora resists any involvement with her father or his production.

Actress Emma Stone is slated to portray an undisclosed American film star in a upcoming movie. The production of this film is overseen by Maria Ekerhovd and Andrea Berentsen Ottmar, with Nathanael Karmitz, Juliette Schrameck, Janine Jackowski, Jonas Dornbach, Sisse Graum Jørgensen, and Lizette Jonjic serving as co-producers.

Other details about Sentimental Value remain under wraps.
