As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for suspenseful narratives and interactive storytelling, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the return of Until Dawn since its initial release back in 2015. With my memories of the original game still fresh in my mind, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anticipation as I gear up for the enhanced re-release coming to PC and PS5 next October.
Collaboratively, Ballistic Moon, PlayStation Studios, and Supermassive Games are refining an upgraded re-edition of Until Dawn for both PC and next-gen PlayStation platforms. Recently, Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled a fresh trailer showcasing the significant changes between the original game and its revamped version. Excitingly, we now have a confirmed date: The remastered Until Dawn is set to launch on PS5 and PC in October 2024.
As a longtime fan of horror games, I was thrilled to see PlayStation release a deep dive video for the remastered version of Until Dawn this week. Having played the original when it came out back in 2015, I remember being captivated by its immersive storyline and cinematic presentation. So, learning that the game is set to be released on October 4, 2024, has me incredibly excited!
In the shown footage of Until Dawn’s remastered version, several adjustments were highlighted such as a revamped opening chapter, innovative camera handling techniques, an updated soundtrack and audio design, and advanced motion capture intended to enhance gameplay. When the project was announced in January 2024, we were curious about how Ballistic Moon would surpass the original Until Dawn by Supermassive Games beyond just visual upgrades, given its reputation as some of their finest work.
