As a seasoned veteran of Hunt: Showdown, I can hardly contain my excitement for the Scorched Earth event set to kick off on August 15, 2024. The Rocky Mountains of Colorado will be the new battleground, and with the introduction of the fiery Hellborn creatures, I’m expecting a whole lot more heat in addition to the usual dose of fear!


Participants in the Scorched Earth event for Hunt: Showdown, set in 1896, will encounter fresh challenges as they are introduced to a new Wild Target, along with extra Pacts and goods. The event unfolds amidst the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, offering a thrilling yet chilling shift in backdrop.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 Scorched Earth release date

On August 15, 2024, the first-person shooter event officially begins. Our servers will resume operation at 9pm BST following a 48-hour maintenance period. Remarkably, this event corresponds with the launch of Hunt: Showdown in 1896.

A significant aspect of this update involves a comprehensive improvement to the game’s visuals and performance, which means you might encounter longer wait times when joining and potential minor issues as you play.

Wild Target – Hellborn

In accordance with the event known as “Scorched Earth,” you’ll face a fresh menace referred to as the Hellborn. These ominous beings can be spotted near Mammon’s Gulch, waiting to unleash their fiery wrath upon any unsuspecting individuals who happen to come across them.

Should you encounter one of these fiery beasts, swift action is necessary as their terrifying roars may summon more Hellborn creatures.

Event Pacts

During the Scorched Earth incident, you’ll encounter three distinct Alliances that will significantly impact the game. You must decide which one to align with. Each Alliance provides a distinct array of abilities, so pick the one that aligns most closely with your preferred gaming approach.

The Wilderness Pact traits

  • Surefoot – Sprint while using a First Aid Kit or with primed throwables
  • Beastface – Breaking branches and triggering animals can be avoided
  • Frontiersman – The first 30 Event Points collected for every mission will give you an extra Pledge Mark

The Lawful Pact traits

  • Peacekeeper – Looting a dead Hunter will an empty Health Chunk
  • Packmule – Looting dead Hunters will yield extra ammo
  • Vigilant – Dark Sight range is doubled

The Demented Pact traits

  • Berserker – Increase melee damage
  • Adrenaline – Falling to critical health will grant a 25% speed boost for 20 seconds
  • Ghoul – Dealing damage to a Boss Target or Wild Target will restore health

New weapons and items

In the Scorched Earth update for Hunt: Showdown, you’ll find some fresh weapons and tools to aid your journey into Mammon’s Gulch. During this 1896 event, you can obtain the 1865 Carbine, Infantry 73L rifle, bear traps, and a Crossbow Deadeye with a scoped variant.
