Channing Tatum Would Kill Kittens For Another Gambit Movie

As a hardcore X-Men fan, I can’t help but reminisce about the days when Channing Tatum was supposed to grace our screens as everyone’s favorite mutant thief, Gambit. The thought of a standalone Gambit movie with him at the helm is like a ray of sunshine breaking through the gloom that followed the scrapping of the project due to Fox being gobbled up by Disney.

Fan favorite character Gambit made an appearance that had fans thrilled in the crossover of Deadpool and Wolverine, portrayed by Channing Tatum.

The actor recently went on Jimmy Fallon, and made it clear just how much he loved playing the role. He would apparently do almost anything for a standalone Gambit movie.

Channing Tatum As Gambit

On Jimmy Fallon’s evening talk show, Channing Tatum shared that he had originally been cast for a role in the Gambit film. Regrettably, because of Fox being acquired by Disney, the project was cancelled.

Further along, Tatum mentioned that Marvel’s Kevin Feige had conveyed to him the need for finding a way to incorporate a Gambit narrative within the existing condition of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He literally was like, ‘I love Gambit. I just don’t know how to do it right now. I don’t know how [Gambit] fits into what we’re doing. So I need to have a minute to figure it out.’

Tatum stated that he’s now a bit more optimistic about the movie happening.

He jokingly said:

I would kill kittens… I would do lots of terrible things to make that happen.

Additionally, Tatum expressed his gratitude towards Ryan Reynolds, as it was thanks to him that the collaboration between Deadpool and Wolverine came to fruition.

It was just nothing and nowhere and he was like, ‘I want this for you, I want this in the movie, and I want to see it.’
