As a seasoned gamer of Thai dramas, I can confidently say that 2024 has been nothing short of a thrilling year for GL enthusiasts like myself. The rise of GL shows alongside the popular BL genre is a testament to the growing acceptance and demand for diverse narratives in the entertainment industry.

2024 has been an exceptional year for enthusiasts of Thai Girl Love (GL) dramas, as the popularity of these shows is on the rise alongside the well-established Boy Love (BL) catalog. The acclaimed Blank The Series graced our screens earlier this year and quickly gained immense popularity. Additionally, 23.5’s high school romance touched many hearts. More recently, the beloved GL pair Freen and Becky made a comeback in The Loyal Pin. With such promising developments, it seems that Thai GL dramas are set to shine even brighter! As we look ahead, here is a list of anticipated new Thai Girl Love series.

Affair

On Friday, August 30, 2024, “The Affair” television series will debut, featuring Sonya Saranphat Pedersen and Lookmhee Punyapat Wangpongsathaporn in the leading roles. The narrative revolves around Seang Pleng (Sonya), the daughter of a boss, who develops a strong friendship with Wanviva (Lookmhee), the maid’s daughter, as they grow up together. A turn of events occurs when Seang Pleng’s family faces bankruptcy and loses all their possessions, forcing her to distance herself from Wanviva. The story continues after over a decade, when the childhood friends reconnect.

Reverse 4 You

Coming up this month on Thai television is “Reverse 4 You The Series,” premiering on August 31, 2024. Starring Christine Gulasatree Michalsky and Mae Methakarn Anektanasuwan, the drama follows sisters Jattawa (Mae) and Vivi. Jattawa possesses time-manipulation powers, while Vivi can predict the future. In a vision, Vivi sees her sister meeting her lover on a snowy day, but she identifies Four (Christine) as this mysterious figure. However, Jattawa is skeptical because Four has an unsavory reputation at university.

Unlock Your Love

The Thai drama series titled “Unlock Your Love” features B Mine Jiratchaya Komontut and Near Inthira Thammajaroen in the main roles. Additionally, Chacha Rita Ramnarong and Cake Nawaporn Chansuk take on supporting roles. This captivating drama is set to debut on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Pluto

Pluto, a Thai Gay Love Story produced by GMMTV, is eagerly awaited. This project was first revealed at the GMMTV 2024 PART 1 event. As of now, it’s still in production without a confirmed release date. However, it’s likely to be out later this year.

In the narrative of Pluto, the main focus is on twin sisters, Ai-oon and Ob-oom (played by Namtan Tipnaree Weerawatnodom). On her wedding night, Ob-oom implores Ai-oon to break up with May (Film Rachanun Mahawan), her girlfriend. However, a turn of events occurs when Ob-oom and her husband are involved in an accident. To comply with her sister’s wish, Ai-oon reaches out to May, only to be taken aback when she learns that May is visually impaired. As Ob-oom lies comatose, Ai-oon chooses to stand by May’s side instead.
