Grant Ellis is the absolute right choice for The Bachelor season 29

As a dedicated fan of The Bachelor franchise who has witnessed countless romantic journeys unfold on screen, I wholeheartedly support Grant Ellis as the lead for season 29. His genuine pursuit of love and his openness about his desire to find a life partner resonated deeply with me throughout Jenn Tran’s season.

Jenn Tran didn’t find Grant Ellis to be “the one,” but that doesn’t mean her perfect match isn’t waiting somewhere. The Bachelor show is providing Grant with the chance to discover his ideal partner, as he was selected as the lead for season 29 just moments after we learned about the four contestants advancing to Hometowns.

Given Grant’s popularity throughout season 21 of The Bachelorette, it’s not entirely unexpected that he’s the one making this announcement. Among the contenders, Grant consistently prioritized his intentions – finding a wife and starting a family – which resonated with Jenn from the start. Despite not being selected for Hometowns, he remained sincere in sharing his journey of getting to know her.

It turned out poorly timed, as he discovered in episode 5 that he was developing feelings for her. He became quite emotional, even shedding tears, when he acknowledged his growing affection for her in episode 5, only to feel empty when it seemed she didn’t share the same feelings in episode 6. Now, he finds himself on his own season of The Bachelor, hoping to find a life partner among numerous women who are vying for his affection.

In the past 22 years of the Bachelor franchise, Grant is the second Black leading man, following Matt James in season 25. The series and its fanbase have faced challenges with race, including dealing with racist incidents and criticism. Efforts have been made to improve, but progress has been slow. For instance, when Jenn’s season was announced, there was justified outcry about the lack of representation for Asian men in the cast.

In each new season of the franchise’s shows, we get an opportunity to move forward positively. Selecting Grant as the Bachelor, given his evident potential as a lead actor, was a smart choice. Many fans of “Bachelor Nation” are eager for him to find love, and being part of this journey should make for compelling television.

Applications for the current season of Grant’s show are still open for submission. Visit the official website to register your interest and potentially become part of the cast. Additionally, you can use this site to suggest someone you think would make a great participant in the quest for love.
