George Clooney ‘Irritated’ After Quentin Tarantino Said He Wasn’t a Movie Star

As a gamer with a deep appreciation for cinema and its legends, I can’t help but feel a twinge of empathy for George Clooney in this situation. While Quentin Tarantino may be known for his provocative statements, it seems he overstepped this time.

George Clooney felt somewhat disheartened upon learning that renowned director Quentin Tarantino considered him no longer a major player in Hollywood’s film industry.

During a recent interview with GQ, alongside Brad Pitt, Clooney jokingly criticized Tarantino for not acknowledging him as a film star, finding his behavior annoying.

What did Quentin Tarantino say to anger Clooney?

As stated by Clooney, Tarantino apparently made some jabs during a recent conversation, in which he discussed movie stars. In this discussion, when Clooney’s name came up, Tarantino commented that Clooney hadn’t accomplished anything since the turn of the millennium. This remark reportedly upset the actor.

“Quentin said some s— about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him,” Clooney said. “He did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about [Brad], and somebody else, and then this guy goes, ‘Well, what about George?’ He goes, he’s not a movie star. And then he literally said something like, ‘Name me a movie since the millennium.’ And I was like, ‘Since the millennium? That’s kind of my whole f—— career.’”

Towards the end of the broadcast, Clooney playfully retorted at Tarantino, stating that he’s not bothered by a bit of banter following Tarantino’s comments. “Well now, buddy, get lost,” Clooney quipped, adding humorously, “I don’t mind dishing out some trash-talk.” He then humorously acknowledged his good fortune for working with such talented directors.

George Clooney’s remarkable acting journey extends over four decades, with the majority of his notable roles appearing during the 2000s as stated by himself. From 2000 to 2016, Clooney appeared in films such as Ocean’s series, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Perfect Storm, Michael Clayton, Burn After Reading, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Gravity, and Hail, Caesar!

The actor will appear with Brad Pitt in the forthcoming action-comedy “Wolfs” and is set to feature in an as-yet-unnamed coming-of-age comedy-drama directed by Noah Baumbach, which is also upcoming.
