They believe this event is likely happening because it’s a week before the release of God of War Ragnarok on PC, and also prior to the Tokyo Game Show, which Sony typically holds.
Regarding the identity of DetectiveSeeds, it’s important to note that they are not a journalist, blogger, or typical insider leaker. Instead, they engage in conversations with game developers from various studios and offer constructive feedback on accessibility features behind the scenes.

Last year in September, there was a PlayStation Showcase, and we also had State of Play events scheduled for September 2022 and 2023. Moreover, during the leak of May’s State of Play event, trusted insider Tom Henderson hinted at a “PlayStation Showcase happening towards the end of this year”.
For next month, nothing’s been officially confirmed yet, but it’s likely that Sony will reveal some upcoming games. Among these are the highly anticipated PS5 exclusives Silent Hill 2 remake and Until Dawn’s reboot.
