According to ScreenRant, one significant factor that prevented Green Lantern 2 from happening was its substantial production cost of $200 million. Even with this significant investment, the movie’s global earnings totaled only $220 million, significantly lower than the projected $500 million required for success. The film’s disappointing box office performance by itself was enough to halt any future plans for a sequel.
As someone who has been a movie enthusiast for many years, I must say that it was rather disappointing to see a film receive such low ratings from both fans and critics alike on Rotten Tomatoes. With my extensive experience in watching films from various genres, I have come to appreciate the skill and effort that goes into creating a good movie. However, when a highly anticipated film fails to meet expectations, it can be disheartening. This particular instance, with a 25% Tomatometer rating and 45% Audience Score, was a stark reminder of the unpredictability of the film industry.
