What happened in Chanderi town?
During the annual festival in Chanderi, people feared a spectral figure named Stree. They believed she emerged for four days and abducted solitary men. To safeguard themselves, the townsfolk wrote a message on their walls: “Stree, please come tomorrow,” as a way to ward her off.
Though I harbored some apprehension, as a budding tailor residing in a quaint village nearby, I refused to lend credence to the local legend about the spirit. As the much-anticipated festival drew nearer, I encountered an enchanting young lady (Shraddha Kapoor), seeking my expertise for her lehenga. Captivated by her charm, our paths crossed again outside the temple on the very first night of the festivity.

On that particular night, Vicky encountered the enigmatic girl once more and guided him into a thick woodland. As they chatted under the glow of the moon, the girl inexplicably vanished, leaving Vicky feeling alarmed. He promptly sought out his friend Bittu, who informed him about Jana’s vanishing act and hinted that the mysterious girl could be Stree.
Understanding the peril, Vicky swiftly sewed the garments the girl provided him and returned to face her. To his shock, in an eerie turn of events, the girl transformed into a spectral being directly in front of him, lending credence to his suspicions.
Stree ending: How did Vicky save Chanderi from Stree?
Following their meeting, Vicky and his buddy Bittu tracked down Rudra, a local who was well-versed in the ominous past of the Stree. As per the Chanderi Tales, it’s only someone born to a prostitute that can vanquish the Stree. Since everyone in the village, including Rudra, were aware that Vicky’s mother was a prostitute, this made Vicky the sole individual capable of ending the fear.
Eager to break the spell, Vicky, Bittu, and Rudra made their way to the deserted mansion, said to be home to the spectral creature known as Stree. As they attempted to face off with the spirit, she materialized suddenly, poised to strike down Vicky. It was then that the enigmatic girl reappeared, stepping in just in time to shield Vicky from imminent doom. She disclosed that she had been pursuing the Stree for ages and now stood ready to vanquish her for good.
Vicky came to understand that the key to overpowering the Stree lay in cutting off her braid, the very thing that gave her strength. They brainstormed a strategy to capture her, however, when the Stree attacked once more, she kidnapped Vicky and pulled him towards the mansion.
In a thrilling climax, the enigmatic girl arrived precisely when it mattered most. Amidst the chaos that ensued, she skillfully severed the Stree’s braid, which led to the spirit disappearing. With the Stree appearing to be subdued, the girl was about to depart. However, in an unexpected turn of events, she fastened the cut braid to her own tresses, boosting her strength. This foreboding ending suggested a sequel, slated for release on August 15, 2024.
