What is LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy about?
The animated special presents a chaotic scenario across the Star Wars universe. An average Nerf-herder named Sig Greebling stumbles upon a potent artifact in a concealed Jedi temple, leading him into an exhilarating, bizarrely tangled adventure. In this new take on the galaxy, heroes are villains, villains are heroes, and the destiny of everyone hinges on Sig transforming into a hero capable of restoring order to this jumbled universe.
As a lifelong fan of animation and voice acting, I am thrilled to see such a diverse and talented cast assembled for this upcoming project. With my years of experience in the industry, I can appreciate the skill and dedication required to bring characters to life through voice acting. From Gaten Matarazzo’s charismatic delivery to Mark Hamill’s iconic performances, each actor brings something unique to the table. I am particularly excited to see the contributions of Marsai Martin, a young and promising talent who has already made a name for herself in live-action film and television. Overall, this voice cast promises an unforgettable experience for audiences and a testament to the power of collaboration and creativity in the world of animation.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Mark Hamill serves as a consulting producer for this project, lending his expertise and passion. Furthermore, it’s an absolute delight to know that fellow Star Wars veterans like Naomi Ackie, Anthony Daniels, Kelly Marie Tran, and Billy Dee Williams will grace our screens with their guest appearances, adding a touch of nostalgia to the experience.
In my gaming world, I’m excited to share that this upcoming special is crafted by the genius minds of Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, your friendly neighborhood showrunners. A star-studded team including James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez, Josh Rimes, Jill Wilfert, Jason Cosler, and Keith Malone are serving as executive producers. Not to forget the dynamic duo of Daniel Cavey and Dan Langlois who are producing this spectacle. Chris Buckley is steering the ship as our director for this special event. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for us!
“Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, renowned comedy writers I’ve collaborated with, have brought their comedic brilliance to our project. We’ve creatively combined different LEGO sets to build Imperial X-fighters, Rebel TIE-wings, and even a Darth Jar Jar. This four-part series is an ode to Star Wars, LEGO, and the unique blends that occur when these two iconic brands join forces,” Waugh stated in a release. It’s a tribute to everything that makes both franchises special.
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy will premiere on Disney+ on September 13, 2024.
