As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt and a family to tend to, I can’t help but feel like Treyarch has finally read my mind with this new feature for Black Ops 6 Zombies mode. The ability to save and pause progress is a game-changer that will allow me to conquer the undead hordes without sacrificing quality family time or sleep. I’ve had many an epic run cut short by the call of duty (pun intended) from reality, but with this new feature, I can finally finish what I start!

As a die-hard Call of Duty: Zombies fan, I can’t help but feel the familiar pang when my gaming sessions are interrupted by real-life obligations. But with the upcoming launch of Black Ops 6, it seems like Treyarch is finally answering our prayers! For the very first time, they’re introducing a feature that lets you pause and save your Zombies progress, giving us gamers the chance to pick up right where we left off when duty calls.

Yesterday, Treyarch revealed the latest Zombies feature through a blog post about the game mode. In single-player mode (Solo), players have the option to preserve their game progress if they’re completely healthy, not downed or dead, and aren’t currently involved in an Exfil. Players can then pick up where they left off using this saved file.

In Solo mode for Zombies, players can temporarily halt their gameplay. After a sufficient pause, the game will automatically save the player’s progress from the point where they paused. However, in Zombies’ Squad mode, there won’t be an option to save group progress. But if any player disconnects, they can rejoin the game post-spectating for a while.

Fans who have been playing the Zombies mode since it debuted in Call of Duty: World at War back in 2008 are likely to get thrilled about the enhancements coming to their quality of life in Black Ops 6, which is set for release on October 25, 2024. Notably, this will be the first title in the series to launch on Xbox Game Pass upon its debut.
