As a die-hard fan who has followed Cate Blanchett’s illustrious career since her early days, I must say that her recent revelation about the financial aspect of the Lord of the Rings trilogy left me both amazed and amused. Here we have an Academy Award-winning actress, one of the most respected and successful in Hollywood, casually mentioning that she “basically got free sandwiches” for portraying Galadriel, one of the most iconic roles in cinematic history.

As a dedicated gamer, I’d put on my detective hat and say, “When someone suggested it might have been The Lord of the Rings, Blanchett shot back, ‘You gotta be joking! Nobody was compensated for that film.'”

When inquired about receiving a share of the backend from Cohen, Blanchett responded, “Absolutely not! That was long before all that. No, nothing at all. I simply wanted to collaborate with the director of Braindead. To be honest, I essentially received free sandwiches and got to keep my earrings.”
