As a die-hard fan of Telugu cinema, I am beyond ecstatic about the upcoming release of Double iSmart! The casting of Sanjay Dutt as Big Bull is nothing short of a dream come true for me. I’ve been following his career since the 90s and have always admired his versatility as an actor.
The upcoming film Double iSmart, starring Ram Pothineni, is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2024. Right now, the production team is busy with promotions. At a recent pre-release event for the movie, director Puri Jagannadh and producer Charmee Kaur announced that they have signed Sanjay Dutt for no less than seven different films.
The director announced that since Dutt is involved in multiple upcoming projects at present, they chose to secure his services ahead of time. Currently, the actor known for his role in KGF Chapter 2 is playing the lead villain in Double iSmart, where he takes on the character of Big Bull.
At the very same function, former actress Charmme Kaur shared her joy about being involved in Sanjay Dutt’s first Telugu film project. Additionally, the director openly displayed his admiration for the actor, acknowledging him as a favorite and expressing his thanks.
More recently, the creators of the movie revealed a song titled “Big Bull.” This tune, skillfully composed by Mani Sharma, stars both Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt on screen. The melodious vocals are provided by Prudhvi Chandra and Sanjana Kalmanje, while Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar is responsible for penning the lyrics.
In this lively number, Sanjay Dutt portrayed an intimidating villain opposite RamPo. Additionally, the tune offered a sneak peek at the movie and included behind-the-scenes glimpses of its production.

In a new twist of events, “Double iSmart” follows as the continuation of the 2019 release titled “iSmart Shankar.” This fresh installment reintroduces the primary character from the initial storyline, none other than Ustaad “iSmart” Shankar.
In the first part, a humble assassin was recruited by the police after they needed someone for a unique memory-transfer process from their top deceased officer. As the memories were passed on, the assassin gradually lost sight of his own identity, transforming into an honest police officer and aiding in the ongoing investigation.
In this action-packed sci-fi movie, Puri Jagannadh takes on the dual roles of director and financier, alongside Charmme Kaur. The star-studded cast includes Ram Pothineni as the main character, joined by Sanjay Dutt, Kavya Thapar, Sayaji Shinde, Bani J, Getup Srinu, Ali, Makarand Deshpande, and numerous other notable actors in significant roles.
The movie had to be postponed because of several money-related issues, but it’s ready now and will hit theaters on August 15.
