The Motion Pictures Association has given the upcoming Kraven the Hunter film by J.C. Chandor an R-rating due to its graphic violence and strong language. This will be the last R-rated movie to be released this year, following the premiere of Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine and Warner Bros.’ Joker: Folie à Deux.
In this upcoming film, “Kraven the Hunter” will star Taylor-Johnson as Sergei Kravinoff, a character who assumes the role of Spider-Man’s infamous foe. Directed by J.C. Chandor (nominated for an Oscar in A Most Violent Year), the screenplay is co-written by Richard Wenk, Matt Holloway, and Art Marcum. Fred Hechinger (Fear Street Trilogy, The White Lotus) will portray Chameleon, Kraven’s half-brother, while Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) takes on the role of Calypso, Kraven’s companion and lover. Russell Crowe and Levi Miller are also part of the cast in unspecified roles. Christopher Abbott and Alessandro Nivola have been chosen as the film’s primary antagonists.
