According to reports from Telemundo, the leader of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, Larissa Schaerer, requested that Alonso depart from the Olympic village promptly, as he was allegedly fostering an uncomfortable atmosphere for the Paraguayan team by his actions.

According to the New York Post, Alonso stated in an Instagram post on Monday, “I’d like to make it clear that no one removed me or expelled me from anywhere. Please stop spreading misinformation. I won’t issue a formal statement, but I won’t let untruths impact me.”
