Prepare to immerse yourself in compelling stories, such as the wartime drama “A Lonely Hero’s Journey” and the period thriller “Chang Le Qu”. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the Chinese series scheduled for broadcast during August.

A Lonely Hero’s Journey

Come August 6, 2024, I’ll be diving into an intense wartime Chinese drama. In this role, I’m Gu Yi Zhong, a prominent figure from the Gu family. After earning my architecture degree at a renowned overseas university, I find myself back in Suzhou. Though I work to preserve our culture, I harbor grander ambitions. Most notably, during China’s struggle against Japanese forces, I become an active participant in anti-Japanese resistance efforts.

Ultimately, the Japanese portrayed Gu Yi Zhong as a traitor in an attempt to demoralize him. However, when he couldn’t clear his name, he swore revenge against the Japanese army. To execute this plan, he joined the Suzhou Secret Service Station covertly and assembled a powerful group.

A Lonely Hero’s Journey will be available to watch on iQIYI.

Blue Canvas of Youthful Days

Best & New Chinese Drama Releases in August 2024

In August 6, 2024, a Chinese Boys’ Love drama mini-series will debut. The plot revolves around Qi Lu, portrayed by Guo Jia Le, who was raised under the watchful eye of his overbearing father. To break free from his control, Qi Lu chooses to enter Bo Yi Art Studio. It is here that he encounters Qin Xiao (Zhang Xuan Yu), an exceptionally gifted artist hailing from a neighboring village.

As I found myself initially locked in a rivalry, little did I know that this person would become more than just an adversary. We grew closer, forging an unbreakable bond. Qi Lu, much like me, began to understand the complexity and turmoil hidden within our newfound friend’s life. Over time, we fell in love, offering solace and healing to each other’s emotional scars.

Blue Canvas of Youthful Days will be available to stream on iQIYI.

Apart from these, I’m eagerly anticipating “Are You the One” and “All We Lie,” which are rumored to drop in August. Keep your eyes peeled for further announcements!
