It’s not every day that an animated film manages to break into the elite club of the highest-grossing movies of all time!
The highly anticipated second installment of Inside Out, released on June 14 this year, has been shattering records at the box office. Over the past two months, it’s amassed an impressive earnings total. Consequently, this sequel has found its place among the top ten highest-grossing films ever made.
Inside Out 2 becomes the 10th highest-grossing movie worldwide
Currently, as I’m typing this, the global box office earnings for Inside Out 2 have reached an astounding $1.56 billion. This impressive figure places the movie among the top ten highest-grossing films of all time.
The movie has earned approximately $900 million from international box offices, while the domestic box office accounts for about $626 million of its total earnings.
Even after eight weeks since its release, Pixar’s film, Inside Out 2, earned an additional $27 million worldwide this past weekend. Approximately $20 million of that amount was generated from international sales, with Japan contributing around $5 million due to the movie’s recent premiere there. As reported by Collider, these impressive earnings have helped Disney surpass $3 billion globally in box office revenue for the year, making them the first studio to achieve this milestone in 2021.
