The Season 2 finale of the series sees significant decisions being made in the political arena, commonly known as the House of Dragon. Alicent and Daemon are faced with a crucial decision: will they prioritize their own interests, support Rhaenyra, or back Aegon?

In the thrilling conclusion of the last episode, I found myself cheering as two fresh dragonriders, Ulf and Hugh, joined Rhaenyra’s esteemed team. The majestic Silverwing now soars with Ulf, while Vermithor was claimed by Hugh. Both Addam and Hugh managed to impress Rhaenyra with their composure, but Ulf, well, he didn’t seem too far from his old drinking buddies, even as Jacaerys and Rhaenyra pointed out a few things.

She dispatches Hugh and Ulf to master the art of dragonriding, inviting Addam to accompany her on a task instead. Ser Simon Strong issues a cautionary note suggesting that Daemon appears to be amassing an army. It’s crucial for her to determine whom he intends to pledge allegiance to, and displaying a new dragonrider may help attract support of some kind.

Daemon sees Aegon’s dream in the House of the Dragon Season 2 finale

In the beginning of the episode, Daemon persists in his belief that he is a monarch. Later on, Alys Rivers pays him a visit and leads him to the Godswood, intending to show him something.

In this scenario, the entity known as Daemon reaches out and interacts with a tree, only to be drawn into what appears to be his final, monumental vision. This grand spectacle includes Aegon the Conqueror, an ominous white walker, Daenerys tending to her trio of newly-hatched dragons, and additional figures. It becomes evident to him that each of these characters is present for a significant purpose.

Upon her arrival, he shares with her his discoveries and pledges allegiance to her. His amassed troops now belong to her. As the episode concludes, he emerges from their camp, prepared for battle.

Rhaena finds the dragon she’s been looking for

As a fellow admirer, I couldn’t help but share your concerns about Rhaena venturing solo into the untamed Vale wilderness. It quickly became evident in the episode that her preparations were far from adequate, leaving us all on edge.

Yet, the story doesn’t end on a grim note. As the episode concludes, she spots a dragon soaring above and dashes towards it. In the final scene of the series, the dragon encounters Rhaena head-on. Could she manage to subdue this untamed beast?

In the current situation, Corlys finds himself in a position to offer guidance to Rhaenyra. Given that she now possesses three dragons, it’s advisable for her to launch an attack, regardless of the Greens having two more dragons at their disposal.

In a touching instant, Rhaenyra inquires about the Sea Snake. However, it’s not called that anymore. Instead, Corlys reveals that the ship has been rechristened as The Queen Who Never Was, a tribute to Rhaenys.

In due course, Corlys reprimands Alyn for his brusque demeanor. Given the opportunity bestowed upon him, Alyn falls short, a fact even the men notice. Acknowledging his harsh exterior, Alyn admits he didn’t ask for this situation. When Corlys had a legitimate heir, Alyn and Addam meant little to him. Her long-standing jealousy towards Rhaenyra, coupled with her unwavering commitment to duty, has steered them down a dangerous path.

From the Lannisters to the Starks and Targaryens, the intrigue and machinations that unfold are often more fascinating than any fictional tale. Helaena shares her vision of what’s to come in House of the Dragon Season 3

Larys is currently in a strategic position over Alicent and Rhaenyra. Recognizing the potential for Rhaenyra to seize King’s Landing, he chooses to secure Aegon’s safety by removing him from the city. At first, Aegon resists this idea, feeling that all their efforts may have been in vain. However, Larys manages to persuade Aegon to temporarily flee instead.

As Aemond persists in urging Helaena to mount Dreamfyre and participate in the conflict, Helaena counters by asserting that all his actions lead to nothing. Regardless of whether he becomes king again, he’ll rule from a simple chair. His life will end. Not even Helaena’s threatened demise can alter this fate.

Based on this, it appears we have a glimpse into what’s to come for House of the Dragon’s third season: Rhaenyra might capture King’s Landing; however, she won’t hold onto the Iron Throne indefinitely.
