In recent days, SS Rajamouli’s Netflix documentary, Modern Masters, is garnering interest thanks to revealing tales about the filmmaker that haven’t been shared before. Actors and others connected to the movie industry have already spoken about working with him, and now his wife, Rama Rajamouli, has disclosed an untold story from their personal life, which happened just before or around the time of their marriage.
In the documentary, Rama Rajamouli recalled her initial encounter with SS Rajamouli at her sister’s wedding. At that time, she didn’t find him exceptionally notable, given that he was the brother of her new brother-in-law.
Initially, Rama made it clear she had no romantic feelings toward SS Rajamouli. Later on, she admitted that she wasn’t prepared to accept his proposal at the time.
She shared, “Our relationship wasn’t particularly romantic as we had already grown up by the time we became involved. However, when he asked for my hand in marriage, I found myself unexpectedly unprepared.”
Progressing with her disclosure, Rama subsequently divulged some details about the marriage proposal SS Rajamouli extended to her. She reiterated that there was no romantic encounter involved, and the proposal was simply a casual discussion. In her own words, “To clarify, it wasn’t a particularly romantic exchange. It was just a casual conversation we had.”
Furthermore, Rama expressed that Rajamouli’s proposal struck her as both senseless and unexpected. Justifying her perspective, she mentioned that she was a divorced woman with a son from her prior marriage, finding it hard to believe that the director could seriously consider such an idea.
Fortunately, despite an initial hesitation, Rama and Rajamouli ended up getting married in 2001. The star wife attributed the change to her husband’s determination, explaining, “Just like other aspects of his life, he is quite persistent. So, after some time had passed, we decided to take the plunge.”
