Big Ocean K-pop Boy Group Members: Name, Age & More

As a passionate follower of K-pop and an advocate for inclusivity, I am absolutely captivated by Big Ocean! Their journey and resilience are truly inspiring. Being a hearing-impaired K-pop group is groundbreaking in itself, but their individual stories are what make them extraordinary.

The fresh face in K-pop is Big Ocean, a newly formed group under Parastar Entertainment. This trio, comprising Kim Jiseok, Park Hyunjin, and Lee Chanyeon, made waves as the first-ever Korean boy band with hearing impairment. Each member faces hearing challenges but uses innovative technologies and medical devices to surmount obstacles and hone their skills.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about Big Ocean, a remarkable boy group that burst onto the K-pop scene with their debut digital single, “Glow”, on April 20, 2024. Ever since then, they’ve been fearlessly innovating to foster greater inclusivity within the industry. Their music is not just uplifting; it resonates deeply with fans worldwide. Currently, they boast an impressive follower count of 849K on their official Instagram account, a testament to their growing popularity.

Among his group, Kim Jiseok is the youngest member, often referred to as the maknae. He serves as the principal dancer in Big Ocean. Born with hearing impairments, Kim Jiseok has a remarkable story. Notably, he was previously an accomplished Alpine skier and later discovered a deep-rooted passion for arts, as reported by Tatler.

In the interim, Park Hyunjin serves as the second youngest member and lead vocalist in the boy band. He wasn’t naturally hearing-impaired but experienced hearing issues stemming from a severe fever during his early years. Prior to joining the K-pop group, Park Hyunjin was a YouTuber and model under Parastar Entertainment.

Currently, Lee Chanyeon serves as the oldest member and primary rapper in Big Ocean. Similar to Hyunjin, he didn’t have hearing problems from birth but experienced hearing loss at the age of eleven.
