It’s said that the families of two ex-patients of Dr. Mark Weinberger, Phyllis Barnes and Kayla Thomas, lodged complaints against him. They alleged that Weinberger, a well-known sinus clinic owner in Merriville, Indiana, carried out unnecessary surgeries. Furthermore, he missed diagnosing Barnes’ cancer and Thomas’ brain tumor. It was also claimed that Weinberger made vast sums by overcharging insurance companies for unneeded surgeries or procedures he didn’t even perform.

In 2004, as Mark Weinberger’s criminal activities started emerging, he decided to take his wife Michelle Kramer on a trip to the Greek Islands to celebrate her 30th birthday. However, during their stay on a luxurious yacht in Mykonos, Weinberger mysteriously disappeared without giving any reason, leaving Kramer behind. It was later revealed that they were vacationing on a 79-foot powerboat in Mykonos when this incident occurred.
