List of Movies in Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe

As a seasoned gamer with a knack for action-packed cinematic experiences, I must say that Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride! From the gripping storylines to the jaw-dropping stunts, these films have kept me on the edge of my seat.

Rohit Shetty, a renowned filmmaker, is celebrated for the thrilling action scenes he incorporates into his directorial projects. Besides the high-octane action, his movies also have humor as a key ingredient. Following the success of the Golmaal series, Shetty launched a cop-focused cinematic universe, which we now call Rohit Shetty’s Police Universe. In these films, Bollywood’s top actors portray either law enforcement officers or formidable villains. Starting from Singham and extending to Sooryavanshi, the Police Universe boasts several movies and one web series as well.

Singham

In 2011, Rohit Shetty launched his Cop Universe with the action drama film Singham. This film introduced audiences to the character of Bajirao Singham, played by Ajay Devgn, an honest police officer. The storyline was inspired by Suriya’s 2010 Tamil movie Singam and follows a policeman who educates a corrupt politician on the consequences of dishonesty. Alongside Devgn, the film features Kajal Aggarwal, Prakash Raj, Sonali Kulkarni, Sachin Khedekar, Anant Jog, and others.

Singham Returns

In the sequel Singham Returns, Ajay Devgn reprised his role as Bajirao Singham. The storyline pitted him against a crook disguising himself as a spiritual leader in society. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the movie kept viewers engaged throughout. Kareena Kapoor Khan joined the cast as Singham’s love interest, while Amole Gupte, Anupam Kher, Zakir Hussain, and others took on supporting roles.

Simmba

In 2018, Ranveer Singh joined Rohit Shetty’s Police Universe with the film Simmba. The story revolves around the title character, who initially was a corrupt police officer in Goa. However, when a woman is brutally murdered by a drug syndicate, he decides to uphold justice instead. Sara Ali Khan takes on the leading role alongside him, while Ajay Devgn makes a special appearance as Singham.

In simpler terms, “The movie’s description states that Simmba initially revels in his corrupt and unscrupulous role as a police officer. However, a significant incident triggers his transformation, compelling him to opt for a virtuous life instead.”

Sooryavanshi

After a hiatus of nearly three years, I’ve found myself eagerly anticipating Rohit Shetty’s latest addition to his franchise, Sooryavanshi. In this film, Akshay Kumar dons the titular role, battling a terrorist organization plotting a devastating bomb attack within our borders. Katrina Kaif, who gracefully portrays my character’s significant other on screen, also plays a pivotal part. Yet, what truly sets this action-drama apart is the exceptional guest appearances by none other than Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh.

In Netflix’s streaming, the movie summary states, “An audacious, loyal (yet somewhat forgetful) Mumbai police officer employs every trick in the book – along with some daring stunts – to foil a grand plot aimed at striking his city.”

Indian Police Force

In 2024, Rohit Shetty made his debut in the digital realm with the Amazon Prime Video series titled “Indian Police Force.” This production featured Sidharth Malhotra as Kabir Malik IPS, while Vivek Oberoi, Shilpa Shetty, and Nikitin Dheer took on supporting roles. The narrative follows a Delhi police officer who confronts a cunning enemy, with the pursuit being marked by numerous sacrifices and unexpected turns.

Singham Again

In the third part of the action series featuring Ajay Devgn as Singham, titled “Singham Returns,” is scheduled to hit theaters shortly. This new film will pick up where “Sooryavanshi” left off, with police forces battling a formidable terrorist portrayed by Jackie Shroff. In addition to Devgn and Shroff, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, and Kareena Kapoor Khan are set to reappear in their respective roles. Furthermore, the film will introduce Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff into the Cop Universe.

Singham Again will be released on the occasion of Diwali 2024.
