As a devoted fan of “Serendipity’s Embrace,” I’ve been eagerly anticipating each new episode, and Tuesday’s installment did not disappoint! The chemistry between Kim So-Hyun and Chae Jong-Hyeop is palpable, and their complex past only adds to the intrigue.

4th episode of “Serendipity’s Embrace” was broadcast on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, on tvN and Viki. The series, featuring Kim So-Hyun and Chae Jong-Hyeop, is a heartwarming tale about two former high school classmates reconnecting after ten years, exploring their renewed relationship as a love story.

Previously, Kang Hu-Yeong (Jong-Hyeop) and Lee Hong-Ju (Kim So-Hyun) had a disagreement. His anger towards her stemmed from her ignorance of his emotions, as well as his frustration with her ongoing story involving ex-boyfriend Bang Jun-Ho. Hu-Yeong chose to depart for the United States without saying goodbye to her. However, upon learning that she had been in an accident, he hastened to the hospital.

In the fourth installment of “The Serendipity’s Embrace,” Hu-Yeong expresses his feelings for Hong-Ju, assuring her of her importance to him. Perplexed by his unusual behavior, Hong-Ju ponders the possibility that he harbors affection for her, but dismisses the notion casually.

Episode 4 of “In Serendipity’s Embrace” finds Hye-Ji and Baek Wook standing vigil outside the hospital, waiting for Hong-Ju and Hu-Yeong. Their conversation revolves around Hu-Yeong’s feelings towards Hong-Ju, and they decide to work together to assist the couple in some way.

Prior to encountering Hye-Ji, Hong-Ju advises Hu-Yeong against flirting with her, taking Hu-Yeong aback. Upon leaving the hospital, Hong-Ju teases Hye-Ji by claiming she won’t set them up. For clarification, Hu-Yeong harbors feelings for Hye-Ji, and the female lead tries to aid her friend. However, Hye-Ji is now aware of Hu-Yeong’s affections, leaving Hong-Ju astonished when she reveals she’s dating Son Gyeong-Taek.

Hye-Ji and Baek Wook successfully see off Hong-Ju with Hu-Yeong. The latter comprehends their scheme, trying hard not to chuckle. During their journey home, she attempts to steer clear of engaging with him. Nevertheless, they reminisce about an amusing past event. Specifically, it was when Hu-Yeong neglected a crucial task for Hong-Ju. She had run away from school to express her emotions to her admired Bang Jun-Ho in another town.

Returning to the present, the duo chuckles as they recall the past. But when Hu-Yeong’s recollection is labeled a “negative memory” by her, he inquires why. Hong-Ju responds, “Anything connected to Bang Jun-Ho brings back unpleasant feelings.” Hu-Yeong corrects her, stating that it was actually him the incident involved.

After reaching home, Hong-Ju repeatedly declines Hu-Yeong’s assistance. However, he eventually tends to her needs. He departs briefly to purchase medication and dinner. Later in the night, Hong-Ju appears more at ease when Hu-Yeong returns. Curious, she inquires about their dinner plans. To which, Hu-Yeong responds, “You.” Before Hong-Ju has a chance to respond, Hu-Yeong moves closer. He extinguishes the bedside lamp and leans in for a kiss. The subsequent scene reveals that this was all part of Hong-Ju’s dream.

As Hong-Ju rushed out of her house, Hu-Yeong arrived back. He scooped her up and carried her into the apartment once more. In their ensuing conversation, she brought up the fact that they weren’t particularly close during high school. This comment irked him, leaving him pondering, “How many more times do I have to be pushed aside before declaring my feelings?”

In episode 4 of Serendipity’s Embrace, Jun-Oh resolves to win back Hong-Ju’s affection. Meanwhile, Hu-Yeong, along with Hong-Ju’s friends, assists him in trying to impress her. He prepares a meal for her, and as they dine together and reminisce about their past, their bond deepens.

But shortly after, their joy is interrupted when Jun-Oh bursts into the house upon hearing about her accident. Regrettably, he responds poorly, stirring up trouble for the couple. As Hu-Yeong prepares to retaliate, Hong-Ju steps in. She confronts Jun-Oh and delivers a sharp response that leaves him stunned.

1. As things drew to a close, Hu-Yeong offered solace to Hong-Ju, softening her feelings towards him. They gazed into one another’s eyes and exchanged their very first kiss.
