Ryan Reynolds Didn’t Know Tom Holland’s Brother Was in Deadpool & Wolverine

As a die-hard fan of the MCU and a particular admirer of Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool character, I was absolutely thrilled to learn about Harry Holland’s surprise cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine. It’s always exciting when there are Easter eggs or hidden gems for fans to discover in these intricately woven narratives.

1. In the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine,” it was Harry Holland, Tom Holland’s younger brother from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who slipped in for a surprise appearance. Interestingly, Ryan Reynolds, who is not only one of the writers and producers but also stars in the film, only recently learned about this cameo. In the movie, Harry Holland plays a character based on Deadpool, joining a long list of famous faces who made brief appearances throughout the film.

Ryan Reynolds’ on Harry Holland’s Deadpool & Wolverine cameo

I was completely in the dark when I found out that Harry Holland was among the cast of Deadpool and Wolverine during production. It wasn’t until July 2024, when the film’s stunt coordinator, George Cottre, shared the news on Instagram, that I became aware of his involvement in the project.

Cottle shared a photo of Holland in a Deadpool suit on his Instagram story and wrote:

When Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds raised the bar to an astonishing level, even the stunt team required a surprise celebrity addition! It might not have been the Holland that the world anticipated, but it was exactly the Holland we all needed. Harry Holland, you nailed it, my friend! (Credit: Deadline)

Later on, Reynolds posted Cottle’s tale on his Instagram account, expressing surprise with the statement, “I hear about it this way?!? You’re telling me?”

Harry Holland also shared Cottle’s story and wrote, “Lots of cameos in Deadpool.”

Harry Holland acted as Shaker Kid in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” earlier on. Unfortunately, his scenes were eliminated from the movie’s final cut and weren’t shown in cinemas. However, these scenes were featured in the global release of “Spider-Man: No Way Home – The More Fun Stuff Version,” an extended cut that came out in 2022. Moreover, Holland was part of the team working on the 2019 film “Spider-Man: Far from Home.” He has also directed several short films, such as “Last Call” (2022), where Tom Holland portrays the character Charlie.

The MCU’s Deadpool and Wolverine film brings these two famous characters to life. This action-packed production made its U.S. premiere on July 26, 2024, and set a new record for the biggest opening weekend box office for an R-rated movie, not just in the United States, but around the world.
