Gil farming guide – FF14

Gil farming guide - FF14

As a seasoned gamer with over a decade of experience under my belt, I have seen the ebb and flow of countless MMORPGs, but none quite like Final Fantasy 14. With its latest expansion, the opportunities to make Gil, or in-game currency, are endless, yet elusive.

In Final Fantasy 14’s latest update, earning substantial Gil (money) becomes possible for players. Although there isn’t a foolproof method to amass a large fortune in Square Enix’s MMORPG, some strategies are more effective than others. Here, we will share the insider tips on making profitable transactions at the marketboard that the ruling figures might not want you to discover.

Crafting + Gathering

1. One simple method to earn income, though it can be remarkably time-consuming, is crafting and gathering. As a crafter or gatherer, you’re essentially offering your time for sale on the market board to other players or those who prefer not to engage in this part of the game. To make a profit, you must analyze your server’s market board, identify gaps in the supply chain, and decide how much time you’re willing to invest and what earnings you aim to achieve.

1. Items related to housing usually sell briskly, regardless of the server, with newly released and frequently used items being particularly popular. Uncommon or premium materials typically bring a good return based on their scarcity and the amount you can supply; however, it’s crucial to identify a niche. Selling rare materials becomes less profitable when many others are flooding the market, attempting to undercut each other.

Roulettes

1. If you’re more of a casual player, playing Roulettes frequently could serve as your consistent income source, and it’s not only about the Gil rewards. In fact, completing Roulettes at higher levels or when they reach their maximum level will yield Tomestones for you, particularly the current, unlimited type. These Tomestones can be utilized to buy advanced crafting materials for new gear sets from Tomestone Vendors.

Treasure Maps

Maps in Final Fantasy XIV can be an effective and uncomplicated method to generate income. Within the 60-100 level bracket, there are specific treasure maps that may produce a portal, granting entry to a secret treasure dungeon. Inside these dungeons, players encounter opportunities to obtain rare materials, cosmetics, or even coveted mounts – all highly sought after and valuable on the market board.

With a maximum of eight individuals in a group for these activities, a smaller team of three players, each taking on a role, is sufficient. In many Data Centers, you’ll encounter a “party finder” system where maps are designated as “Free For All (FFA).” This means that all participants bring their own maps and have an equal opportunity to claim the loot.

Shared FATEs

Shared FATEs offer experience points effectively while leveling alternate characters. However, their primary function is to accumulate Bicolored Gemstones. Obtained from these events, these gemstones can be traded in for crafting materials or, upon reaching a sufficient rank, exchanged for Bicolor Gemstone Vouchers. These vouchers are valuable commodities that can be sold on the market board for a good price across all servers.

Free Company Housing

In FF14, this Gil farm in Free Company isn’t the most easily accessible one, but it could be the most profitable in the long term. If you manage or have access to a Free Company with a house and workshop, consider yourself fortunate. By deploying airships and submarines on voyages, you can obtain rare materials for creating blueprints and special housing items. Using the workshop enables you to manufacture parts for both vehicles and custom houses for players. These valuable items sell well on the market board, although they may not do so as quickly as common materials.
