As a huge fan of suspenseful and thrilling movies, I am beyond excited to share my thoughts on Detained, the upcoming thriller starring Abbie Cornish and Laz Alonso. Having grown up watching Cornish’s diverse range of roles in films like Bright Star, Seven Psychopaths, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, I have always admired her acting skills and am thrilled to see her take on the lead role in this new project.

August is going to be a great month for us film lovers, as Quiver Distribution is set to release their newest thriller titled “Detained.” With a cast that includes the talented actors Cornish and Alonso, along with Moon Bloodgood, John Patrick Amedori, Justin H. Min, and Breeda Wool, this film promises to deliver an unforgettable experience.

What do we know about the Detained movie?
At midnight, in a run-down area, Rebecca is awakened with accusations of a hit-and-run incident. However, what follows is a dangerous struggle that uncovers a hidden and malicious scheme. With no one to trust, she sets out to expose the truth before it engulfs her. Yet, Rebecca conceals mysteries even deeper than they imagine.
Felipe Mucci, who previously created “Two Deaths of Henry Baker” in 2020, is the director of “Detained.” He teamed up with Jeremy Palmer to write the script. Ryan Scaringe takes on the producer role, while Alonso, Cornish, and Monica Sufar serve as executive producers.
Cornish has appeared in numerous films including Somersault (2004), Candy (2006), Bright Star (2009), Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole (2010), Limitless (2011), Sucker Punch (2011), Seven Psychopaths (2012), RoboCop (2014), Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), and Geostorm (2017), among others.
Alonso, on the other hand, gained recognition for portraying Marvin T. Milk/Mother’s Milk/M.M. in The Boys’ fourth season on Amazon Prime Video. Additionally, he has acted in various films including Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood (2003), Jarhead (2005), Stomp the Yard (2007), Fast & Furious (2009), Avatar (2009), and War of Man (2021).
Starting August 2, 2024, “Detained” will be made available for viewing in certain US cinemas, as well as on demand and digitally, through Quiver Distribution.
