Was SEVENTEEN’s China Fan Meeting 2024 Postponed or Cancelled?

As a devoted Carat (SEVENTEEN fan), I was heartbroken to hear about the unexpected postponement of the China fan meeting. The anticipation and excitement leading up to that day were palpable, and it’s disheartening that unforeseen circumstances forced the change in plans.

Unexpectedly, SEVENTEEN by Pledis Entertainment needed to alter the date for their fan meeting in China. The organizers of the fan signing session have communicated this change to the attendees.

At the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on July 23 and 24, “Maestro” singers of SEVENTEEN held their 8th fan meeting, named CARAT LAND. Additionally, they had planned a fan-signing event in Beijing on the 29th of July. Unfortunately, an unforeseen transportation issue prevented the K-pop group from arriving at the venue on schedule. The band members communicated the postponement to their fans via social media and expressed their regret for any inconvenience caused.

SEVENTEEN’s China Fan Meeting 2024 event postponed due to aircraft malfunction

SEVENTEEN, influential figures in the K-pop scene, encountered a problem with their plane en route to Beijing for their scheduled fan event on July 29th. The event’s organizers subsequently announced to fans that it would be rescheduled due to this unforeseen issue.

“Despite numerous attempts at coordinating and adjusting our plans, a last-minute switch to an alternative flight wasn’t feasible. Unfortunately, this meant that our artists arrived late. With the safety and wellbeing of our artists being our number one concern, we had to make a difficult decision and postpone Seventeen’s fan signing event which was initially set for July 29th.”

To ease the disappointment of fans who can’t get refunds for cancellations, the organizers promised they would make things right by reimbursing them for transportation and lodging costs.

SEVENTEEN members express their regret over the incident on Weverse

Following the announcement from the organizers, SEVENTEEN members expressed their apologies directly to fans on Weverse as well. DK wrote, “Carats, I know you were looking forward to meeting us; I’m truly sorry for letting you down. I feel embarrassed for those who traveled specifically for today.”

As a long-time fan of K-pop group SEVENTEEN, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment and concern upon hearing the recent news from their performance unit, CARAT (the name of their fanbase). The statement “Everyone has seen the news by now…CARATs, we are really sorry. We worked hard, but in the end, we couldn’t see you” left me feeling deflated, especially since I had eagerly anticipated their performance.
