As a true-crime enthusiast and follower of Investigation Discovery’s series, American Monster, I am eagerly anticipating the upcoming episode titled “Till Death Do Us Part.” The tragic story of Christy Blankenship’s murder in 2010 is one that has long intrigued me, and I am excited to delve deeper into the details of this heartbreaking case.

Investigation Discovery’s true-crime series American Monster will examine the murder of Christy Blankenship that took place in August 2010. The episode, titled “Till Death Do Us Part,” plans to reveal details about the untimely death of the Oregon native and what happened afterward. It would also give an in-depth perspective of how authorities solved the case and apprehended her husband, Kevin Blankenship, for the murder. The episode will air on the network on Sunday, July 28, at 9 p.m. ET.

An episode summary states, “Christy Blankenship is taken from her loved ones on what was supposed to be a happy day. Her body is later discovered at home with a fatal gunshot wound; her husband claims it was an unfortunate accident. However, just that morning he had promised ’til death do us part.'”

Kevin Blankenship, as reported by The Columbian, admitted to investigators that he unintentionally shot and killed his wife, Christy Blankenship, while cleaning their rifle. However, he initially denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty. Later on, in January 2011, he confessed to the crime and pleaded guilty, resulting in a 25-year prison term. As of now, according to Oregon’s Department of Corrections, Blankenship is serving his sentence at the Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution in Pendleton, Oregon.

Christy Blankenship’s killer: Where is Kevin Blankenship now?

Based on The Columbian’s report, Kevin Blankenship admitted his guilt in the shooting of Christy following his brother’s decision to testify against him. It is claimed that Kevin contacted his brother after the incident and confessed because Christy was planning to leave him. After entering his plea, a judge imposed a 25-year prison sentence on Blankenship for the murder of Christy Blankenship.

Back in September 2010, during a pre-trial hearing, my lawyer argued that due to delusions, I was unable to contribute to my case. But after undergoing an evaluation, the court determined I was capable of helping out. Now, I’m serving time at Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution.

American Monster will feature the episode on Christy Blankenship’s murder on July 28.
