In the most recent installment, Kai acquires Sid’s sword first thing off, and encounters Rinne who implores him to release her. Initially hesitant, he eventually complies. Yet, she later assaults him, convinced that he is a demon dispatched by Vanessa. After overpowering her, Kai clarifies the misconception. Subsequently, he comes to understand that she too retains memories of the realm in which humans emerged victorious in the conflict.

Yet, their discussion is interrupted as a monster suddenly assaults Rinne. Kai vanquishes it using Sid’s Sword Code Holder, transporting them back to the entrance. He subsequently persuades her to come back with him, and they resume talking about the other world. However, the city is being ravaged by monsters, compelling them to act. They are consequently called to the headquarters for a meeting with Jeanne.

In his tale of origin, Kai is dismissed by all. Yet, upon learning about their bond in another realm, Jeanne chooses to listen. Despite her skepticism, she places faith in him and they devise a strategy. The installment concludes with them pondering over the demons’ handling.
