As a dedicated gamer and avid fan of Korean entertainment, I couldn’t be more thrilled about Netflix’s upcoming Korean releases in August 2024! With a mix of K-dramas, movies, and reality shows, there’s something for every type of viewer.
In August 2024, Netflix is preparing to delight fans with a variety of Korean offerings. Ranging from dramas and films to reality shows, the streaming platform will showcase an abundance of titles for viewers’ pleasure. Some of these upcoming projects are “Lovely Runner,” “Love Next Door,” and “The Influencer.”
Instead of: “While Lovely Runner and Love Next Door are romance-comedy dramas, and The Influencer is a reality series, Netflix will introduce an action-comedy film called Mission Cross, as well as a variety show named A-List to Playlist.”
Here’s a list of the Netflix Korean releases in August 2024.
Lovely Runner

In the summer of 2024, “Charming Runner,” a captivating K-drama originally shown on tvN and available on Rakuten Viki, gained a massive following. As a result, streaming giant Netflix announced its acquisition for distribution. Beginning August 1, 2024, all episodes (a total of 16) will be accessible to viewers. The series is an adaptation of “The Best of Tomorrow,” a webtoon created by Kim Bbang.
I’m deeply in love with Ryu Sun-Jae, the charismatic lead vocalist of the fictitious K-pop band Eclipse. His sudden passing leaves me devastated, feeling as if a piece of my heart has been ripped away. Miraculously, I find myself transported back in time by ten years. Now, I’m a high school student living in the same neighborhood as Sun-Jae. Determined to prevent his tragic future, I befriend him and plan to change his past for the better.
Love Next Door

Love Neighbor (Air date: August 12, 2024, on tvN and Netflix)
Growing up, they were inseparable due to their mothers’ deep friendship. They’ve accumulated a wealth of shared memories. But what transpires when they cross paths as adults? Noted director Yoo Je-Won helms this production. He’s renowned for his work on Crash Course in Romance, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, and The King: Eternal Monarch.
The Influencer

A new South Korean reality series called “The Influencer” is set to debut on Netflix starting August 6, 2024. This program brings together 77 influential South Korean personalities from YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram in a competition to see who can attract the most attention through strategic means, making for an engaging social media survival show.
In this social survival reality show, some of the notable influencer cast members are RISABAE, PaniBottle, Shim Euddeum, Jang Keun-Suk, and Sia_jiwoo and KEJIMIN. The series is jointly directed by Lee Jae-Seok and Son Soo-Jeong.

In August 2024, Netflix will premiere a new Korean release called “A-List to Playlist,” which features Jo Jung-Suk’s foray into music. Despite having spent the last 20 years honing his acting skills, Jung-Suk is now set to reveal his hidden talent as a singer. While this may be his official debut in the music industry, fans of the beloved actor have previously heard him sing through his roles in popular K-dramas such as “Hospital Playlist.”
On August 30, 2024, the new reality series will make its debut on the streaming platform. Additionally, the actor is expected to bring along some of his friends as they assist him with his current project.
