As a long-time sports enthusiast and esports aficionado, I am thrilled to learn about the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s groundbreaking decision to hold the first Olympic Esports Games in Saudi Arabia in 2025. Having grown up playing various video games and competing in local tournaments, I never thought I would see the day when esports would be recognized by the esteemed organization.

In this modern time, the IOC is entering a fresh chapter. At the recent IOC Session, the establishment of the Olympic Esports Games was approved, demonstrating our commitment to staying current in the digital age. The esports community, as represented by our Esports Commission, has shown immense excitement for this endeavor.
