As a long-time fan of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” I have seen my fair share of twisted love triangles and miscommunications. Tuesday’s episode left me feeling disappointed and frustrated as Finn, once again, failed to fill Steffy in on Hope’s seductive advances.
If you were a devoted Sinn fan expecting Finn to share Hope’s advances towards him in the dressing room with Steffy on The Bold and the Beautiful’s episode on July 23, 2019, you were left feeling let down. During their heartfelt moment in the CEO office, Steffy asked Finn why he hadn’t visited her earlier. However, as the scene went to commercial break, when it resumed, Finn instead asked Steffy how she was doing, seemingly avoiding her question.
In simpler terms, I wasn’t sure if Steffy realized that he had dodged her query, but I certainly did. He didn’t share the news about Sheila being released from police custody with her. Instead, she learned about it through a text message from Ridge. When Finn was asked why he hadn’t spoken up, he replied that he was conflicted but didn’t provide further explanation. However, to be fair, Steffy became distraught before he had the chance to explain fully.
Finn’s quietness might cause problems for him in the future. Hoping was straightforward with the doctor regarding her feelings towards him. She aims to become his trusted advisor concerning his birth mother. In her conversation with Brooke today, Hope started to believe that Finn deserves someone better than Steffy, implying she thinks he’d be suitable for a woman like herself. I don’t believe she’s finished attempting to entice him.
The intrigue of this storyline lies in its risk of becoming a repetition of the mannequin situation with Thomas. Although Hope isn’t experiencing delusions that a doppelganger doll is pursuing her romantically or desiring her, she refuses to acknowledge Finn’s disinterest. In her daydreams, she overlooked his clear unease during their dressing room exchange. At this juncture, she focuses on her desires rather than the reality in front of her.
In simpler terms, Hope is behaving in an unusually bold and aggressive way towards Finn, which is unexpected from her usual subtle and composed self. Her actions raise concerns for me, not just because of her pursuit of Finn, but also due to the impulsivity and intensity with which she’s going about it. It’s uncharacteristic for Hope to use such overt tactics, and her wild gaze adds to the suspicion that she may be developing an obsession or that this could lead to a more dramatic storyline in “The Bold and the Beautiful,” possibly involving an extreme emotion like obsession or a medical condition similar to Thomas’ past experience with a blood clot.
If that’s the case, Finn faces emotional turmoil rather than physical danger. I have my doubts about him giving in to Hope’s advances, but there’s a risk he could find himself in a sticky situation if he keeps quiet. One misunderstanding between them could be enough to cause trouble in their marriage, just as Liam and Steffe’s did when he mistook a kiss with a mannequin for an affair with Hope. The ensuing events led to the infamous “Steam” one-night stand, leaving Steffy unsure of whether she was carrying Liam or Finn’s child.
Although it’s unlikely that the soap’s storyline would repeat itself identically if the roles were reversed, there’s a good chance she might end things with Finn because of various reasons. It’s not only about the kiss or any other specific incident, but also his silence regarding Hope’s feelings, their ongoing conversations about Sheila, and the fact that they often disagree on the topic of Finn’s birth mother. With her sense of security already fragile, dealing with the complications between Finn and Hope could be the final straw leading to the end of their relationship.
