CW star Kennedy McMann lands her first lead role in a movie and, no, it's not for Nancy Drew

As a dedicated fan of The CW’s Nancy Drew, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that Kennedy McMann was set to star in a new film titled “Brewmance.” Having watched her bring the iconic detective to life for four seasons, I was thrilled to see her stepping into new roles and expanding her acting horizons.

As a devoted fan of The CW’s pre-Nexstar lineup, I’m always curious to know where my favorite actors are heading now that most shows, except for “All American,” have come to an end (with “Superman & Lois” being the last one this year). So, you can imagine my excitement when I heard that Kennedy McMann, who brought Nancy Drew to life so brilliantly in The CW’s modern supernatural adaptation of the classic sleuth’s tale, would be starring in a movie!

As a longtime fan of the “Nancy Drew” series, I must admit that the thought of a movie continuation has been a source of great excitement and anticipation for me and many others in the fandom. We’ve followed Nancy’s adventures through multiple seasons and have grown attached to her character and the world of Mystery Inc.

According to Deadline, the actress will feature in the independent comedy “Brewmance” alongside Alex Moffat, a former SNL cast member. In this film, Amber and Samuel’s unlikely romance unfolds. Amber is portrayed as a determined brewery owner, while Samuel is depicted as a savvy marketing expert. Despite their contrasting views on how to revive Amber’s struggling business, they discover mutual attraction when brainstorming innovative ideas to rejuvenate the brewery.

As a dedicated gamer and avid fan of Nancy Drew, I can’t help but be intrigued by the movie’s heartwarming plot, which seems right at home on the Hallmark Channel. However, considering Moffat’s involvement in the production, I’m confident that there will be plenty of laugh-out-loud moments to enjoy. And let me tell you, Kennedy McMann’s performance as our favorite detective is nothing short of brilliant.

Joining McMann and Moffat on the screen are Jamey Maurice Clay, Zoe Colletti, Joel de la Fuenta, Jessica Jimenez, Caroline Kingsley, Hannah Mosqueda, Steven Ogg, and Kirk Roos.

The exact date for the release of “Brewmance” has not been disclosed yet. Actress McMann has promised her Instagram followers that she will keep them informed about when and where they can watch this upcoming romantic comedy. It’s suggested, but not confirmed, that the film will be available as a streaming title. McMann expressed her excitement for the project, which holds a significant meaning to her personally.
