Eric Roberts Discusses Suits’ Resurgence in Popularity & New Audience

As a longtime gamer and avid fan of legal dramas, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and admiration when I hear about Eric Roberts‘ experience working on Suits. Having grown up watching the show from its initial release in 2011, it’s truly amazing to see how it has continued to captivate audiences, even years after its conclusion.

Eric Roberts made an appearance in just a few episodes of the successful legal show “Suits,” and he’s thrilled that the program has been renewed for another season.

In an interview with ComingSoon, Roberts shared that he hadn’t worked on a project before with such a significant delay in response. He added humorously that since the show’s initial achievement, kids have started greeting him with “hi” due to their recognition of him.

I’ve never experienced the slow build-up to success like that before. And when it finally happened, we received both professional and personal recognition. But then it seemed to disappear, only to suddenly explode again. Now, 12-year-old girls are approaching me in the street, telling me they love me from my role on Suits. They have no idea about my career background, but their enthusiasm is infectious. It’s an entirely new fanbase for me, and it’s really exciting.

Roberts called Suits one of the “hardest jobs ever”

Although Roberts appeared in just nine episodes of the show, she found filming an enjoyable experience, albeit challenging, as her character’s roles demanded lengthy monologues and extended dialogue.

“The show is really entertaining, I must admit. Working on it was quite a challenge, though. With constant monologues and script revisions every few minutes, it was an incredibly demanding experience. Yet, the team is exceptional, particularly Gabe Macht. I have a soft spot for him.”

Roberts made frequent appearances on Suits as Charles Forstman, a wealthy banker character, since the show’s debut in 2011 on USA Network. Lasting for nine seasons until its end in 2019, Suits became a massive hit. Remarkably, it gained even more recognition after being made available on Netflix and Peacock in 2023. Consequently, a new spin-off series named Suits: L.A., is currently under production based on the show’s popularity surge.
