As a devoted fan of Apple TV+ and a captivated viewer of the critically acclaimed series “Pachinko,” I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that Season 2 was finally on its way! The wait has been long, but the newly released trailer has only fueled my anticipation further.
Apple TV+ has now released the authentic trailer for the second season of “Pachinko.” The multigenerational epic drama will be back on our screens starting August 23, marking a return after a hiatus of over two years since the conclusion of its initial 8-episode series.
According to the latest summary, this television show is adapted from a bestselling New York Times novel with the same title. The narrative unfolds as an emotional and expansive tale of love and endurance spanning over four generations. It is narrated primarily through the perspective of Sunja, an extraordinary matriarch. In Season 2, events shift to Osaka during World War II, where Sunja must make risky choices for her family’s wellbeing. Meanwhile, in Tokyo in 1989, Solomon embarks on a fresh and humble journey.

Who is in the Pachinko Season 2 trailer?
In the trailer for Season 2, we get a sneak peek of the main characters returning. Minha Kim portrays teenage Sunja, Lee Min-ho plays Hansu, Kaho Minami is Etsuko, Steve Sanghyun Noh is Isak, Anna Sawai reprises her role as Naomi, Jin Ha takes on Solomon, and Youn Yuh Jung joins the cast as an older Sunja. Previously, Sawai earned her first Emmy nomination for her remarkable performance in Shogun. New additions to the Season 2 lineup are Soji Arai as Mozasu, Inji Jeong as Yangjin, Junwoo Han as Yoseb, Jung Eun-chae as Young Kyunghee, Jimmi Simpson as Tom Andrews, and Yu-na Jeon portraying young Sunja.
Pachinko, a captivating story, is presented in three languages: Korean, Japanese, and English. It follows the aspirations and desires of a Korean immigrant family across four generations. The television adaptation is masterfully crafted by showrunner Soo Hugh, known for her work on “The Terror.” This project is also overseen by Soo Hugh, Michael Ellenberg, Lindsey Springer, and Theresa Kang. In the second season, the helm is taken by talented directors Leanne Welham, Arvin Chen, and Sang-il Lee.
