As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for the rich tapestry of human stories, I am always drawn to individuals who embody strength, humility, and a deep sense of responsibility towards their loved ones. Suriya, the celebrated Tamil actor who turns 49 today (July 23), is one such person whose life experiences resonate deeply with me.
On his 49th birthday, July 23rd, Suriya is renowned for being deeply devoted to his family. In addition to his impressive acting abilities, captivating charm, and fashionable image on screen, this talented superstar values his loved ones above all else.
Instead of “However, the Kanguva actor once made headlines after he spoke about feeling guilty for not being a good brother to Karthi,” you could say “Suriya revealed in the past that he used to bully his younger brother Karthi and now feels remorseful about it.”
When Suriya opened up about not being a good brother to Karthi
During a conversation with Times of India, Suriya shared insights into his past bond with his sibling and current actor Karthi. According to him, they were complete contrasts as children in regard to their individual traits.
When Suriya was a child, he struggled with self-confidence and academic performance, whereas his brother excelled in both areas and was known for being an intelligent scholar. In our childhood days, we had little communication between us and frequently argued. I used to tease him mercilessly because of his chubby physique. His fear of the dark also provided me with ample opportunities to bully him. (The actor Suriya spoke about himself in this context.)
Additionally, Suriya shared an amusing story about an incident from their school days. During a play where Karthi was chosen to portray Balram, Suriya himself was given the role of a prop and used only for the scene. Right before Karthi made his entrance, Suriya intentionally tugged at his necklace.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it like this: I’ve had moments where I regretted my actions towards my sibling. I couldn’t help but feel remorseful for not being a good brother to him and for harboring resentment instead of offering him support.
Suriya on the work front
Suriya recently made a brief appearance in the movie “Sarfira,” which featured Akshay Kumar and hit theaters on July 12. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated film “Kanguva” by Soorarai Pottru actor Suriya is getting ready for its premiere.
In a new take on historical action dramas, “Kanguva: A Mighty Valiant Saga” is led by debuting director Siva, who teams up with Suriya for the first time. The film is scripted by Adi Narayana.
As an obsessed fan, I can’t contain my excitement as we draw closer to the October 10, 2024 release date of Kanguva! To fuel my anticipation even further, the makers dropped a bombshell on July 23 – the first song from the film titled “Fire” was unveiled. This isn’t just any song, oh no. It’s a scorching hot banger composed by the legendary Devi Sri Prasad! As I listen to it on repeat, I can feel the raw power and intensity of Suriya’s character coming alive through this track. The music takes me on a thrilling journey, giving me a glimpse into the fiery avatar that Suriya will portray in Kanguva. Can’t wait for more!
Instead of Kanguva, the actor is working on his next project, titled Suriya 44, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Pooja Hegde has been cast as the main lead in this upcoming film, while Jayaram, Joju George, and Karunakaran have taken up supporting roles. The production team has built a large set in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, for an extensive sequence of action scenes.
