TIFF Debuts New Looks at The Shrouds, The Last Showgirl, & More

As a film critic with over two decades of experience under my belt, I’ve had the privilege of watching countless films from all corners of the globe. Some have left me in awe, while others have tested my patience to the limit. But among the sea of titles, there are always those that truly stand out and resonate with me on a deeper level.


As an excited fan, I can’t contain my enthusiasm as the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) officially announces the complete roster of movies set for their world debuts. Not only that, but we got a sneak peek of some highly anticipated productions, such as David Cronenberg’s The Shrouds, Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl, and Angelina Jolie’s Without Blood, with captivating new trailers to leave us craving more.

On August 13, TIFF’s official website will unveil the complete schedule for its 49th edition, despite the fact that some of this year’s films, such as Mike Leigh’s long-awaited return with “Hard Truths” and “The Assessment” featuring Alicia Vikander and Elizabeth Olsen in their starring roles, have already been disclosed and are set to make their world premieres at the festival.
