Found showrunner teases Sir's endgame (and it's what we expected!)

As a huge fan of “Found,” I’m excitedly anticipating the twists and turns that season 2 is sure to bring. The complicated dynamic between Gabi and her former abductor, Sir, kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire first season. I was hooked as we watched Gabi work together with him, hiding their secret from her team.

Season 2 of “Found” is preparing for a lengthy chase between Gabi and Sir. In its initial phase, this investigative series had Gabi resolving cases with the assistance of her past kidnapper. However, her colleagues were unaware that she was collaborating with the man who had robbed her and her father of valuable years during her adolescence. What’s more, they weren’t even aware that she had him imprisoned in her basement.

We anticipated that the secret wouldn’t last throughout the entire first season of the show, and our suspicion was confirmed. Each of the 13 episodes revealed a little more about the mysterious connection between Gabi and Sir, while also shedding light on their intriguing and multifaceted relationship. Their bond, which is both complicated and intricate, is based on Sir’s fixation with Gabi and the lengthy time she spent under his influence. Despite her reluctance and inability to break free, Gabi remains bound to Sir by this powerful truth.

In the final episode of Season 1, it was revealed that Gabi had kidnapped Sir, an action which could severely harm her bond with Lacey. Lacey, being younger, is intimately familiar with Sir’s capabilities as she too is a survivor of his abuse. To escape her past and avoid public attention, Lacey had adopted a new identity. However, the emotional scars from the kidnapping, similar to Gabi’s, have persisted for decades. Regrettably, Lacey finds herself in Sir’s crosshairs once more.

After being released from Gabi’s basement, Sir’s intentions remain a mystery, but it’s clear they concern Lacey. Actress Shanola Hampton, who portrays the character, believes Sir won’t resort to murder in his next move. She shared her perspective with TVInsider following season 1’s finale.

That’s her biggest fear… that he is somewhere where Lacey is. I think that he would threaten, but I think that in his mind there is a version of life that he and Gabi live together — not in a romantic way, but that they’re partners and he has her. And if he killed Lacey, he knows that there would be no chance of that ever, ever happening. Would he torture? Would he hurt? But to actually kill? There’s no coming back from that. And I think that that keeps Lacey alive or I think that that would stop him.

Nkechi Okoro Carroll, the showrunner, has advised viewers not to jump to conclusions about Sir’s actions. However, there is curiosity about his ultimate goal. At the TCA summer press tour, as reported by TVLine, Carroll clarified, “Sir’s objective remains clear: it’s Gabi.”

It’s not shocking that he’s fixated on Gabi so intensely since the moment he developed an interest in her. For Sir, the path to anywhere is essentially a route to Gabi. Carroll made this clear during his interview with Hampton for TVInsider, also suggesting what may unfold in season 2.

The truth of the matter is Sir is a master manipulator and a master game player as long as he feels he is justified in the thing he’s doing because it’s bringing him closer to Gabi or he’s saving Gabi. He’s capable of anything under the context of, ‘It is something I have to do in order to bring me closer to Gabi. Obstacles have to be removed in order to bring me closer to Gabi,’ and so do not get it twisted. As handsome as Sir is, as charming as Sir is, that man thinks and operates in a very, very scary way and the most dangerous thing for people to do is underestimate it.
