When & where will SIIMA 2024 be held?

The South Indian International Movies Awards (SIIMA) held its inaugural ceremony at the Dubai World Trade Centre in June 2012, covering a span of two days. The initial day honored budding South Indian film artists, while the following day recognized the main SIIMA award recipients. In September 2024, the 12th edition of SIIMA is scheduled to unfold at the Dubai World Trade Centre on the 14th and 15th.

Brinda Prasad Adusumili, head of SIIMA, expressed his excitement about the SIIMA 2023 nominations. He noted that South Indian filmmakers have shattered language boundaries and created blockbusters that resonated nationally. Hence, regional films are now making a significant impact on a national scale. Looking forward, Brinda is confident that SIIMA 2024 will boast an impressive lineup of strong contenders.

Alternatively, the surge of Over-The-Top (OTT) media and the custom of dubbing has brought significant growth to the South Indian film industry. Numerous South Indian films have achieved success by having filmmakers create movies in various languages, expanding their reach to larger audiences and amassing a massive fan base.
